On February 12, 2009, and February 22, 2012, the Federal District Court of Northern Illinois appointed Mark J. Vogel to oversee the post-SRO complaint process for Cook County pursuant to Shakman, et al. vs. Democratic Organization of Cook County, et al., 69 C 2145. Mr. Vogel is to process, investigate and report on complaints of illegal political discrimination in employment practices in the offices under the Cook County Board President and Cook County Board of Commissioners and the Cook County Forest Preserve District that occurred after February 2, 2007 but prior to February 22, 2012.

Important Notice
As of February 22, 2012, the Court has entered an order which transfers the authority to investigation new Post-SRO Complaints from the Post-SRO Complaint Administrator, Mark Vogel, to the Office of the Independent Inspector General (OIIG) of Cook County. This Order provides that any Post-SRO Complaints of unlawful political discrimination are to be filed with and investigated by the OIIG. The Post-SRO Complaint Administrator has the authority to complete investigations into any Post-SRO Complaints filed before February 22, 2012.
